Perricone MD Skincare – Addressing Hydration & Ageing Signs

Even though I love natural products, using science based formulas always ups a skincare game, and provide more noticeable results. This is how I feel each time I use skincare from the Perricone range. Over the last few months, I have been trying out the Cloud Cream from their H² Elemental range to boost my hydration, along with Cold Plasma to help with visible ageing signs. Check out my thoughts and find a 50% off discount code too.

Right, here is a little skin test : Get close up to a mirror and lay your index finger flat against your cheek, pushing it upwards slowly on your cheek, do you see fine lines appearing as you do it? If so, then your skin is probably dehydrated.

If like me, your skin is thirsty and moisturiser seems to disappear come midday, but do not like a heavy cream, you just might want to experience the Cloud Cream from Perricone. Okay, so in summer we need hydration, and once the seasons change again, we still need hydration. Hydrating our skin keeps it supple, feeds the new cells and helps stave off tight, dry skin that can cause wrinkles. Oily skins also need hydration, and this lightweight formulation is a good choice for all skin types.

Perricone MD H² Elemental Energy Hydrating Cloud Cream – £69 for 50ml

Cloud Cream is exactly as its name suggests. With a lightweight gel-like texture, it feels cool and soothing once applied, and effortlessly sinks into the layers of the skin. Containing the brands H² Energy Complex (powered by Hydrogen), it helps provide skin with energy and vitality, providing hydration and radiance, yet without leaving a film like some heavy creams. It leaves my skin feeling soothed, nourished, plus bouncy to the touch, and I find it provides enough hydration for my skin throughout the whole day.

IngredientsWater/Aqua/Eau, Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Dimethicone, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Aluminum Starch Octenylsuccinate, Porphyridium Polysaccharide, Sodium PCA, Sodium Lactate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Arachidyl Alcohol, Sodium Polyacrylate Starch, Cetearyl Alcohol, Behenyl Alcohol, Cetyl Alcohol, Caprylyl Glycol, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter), Phosphatidylcholine, PCA, Sodium Borohydride, Arginine, Dimethyl MEA, Aspartic Acid, Arachidyl Glucoside, Carbomer, Cetearyl Glucoside, Pullulan, Disodium EDTA, Glycine, Alanine, Serine, Valine, Isoleucine, Proline, Threonine, Histidine, Phenylalanine, Ethylhexylglycerin, Phenoxyethanol.

The above image was upon opening around 3 months ago, and below from a week ago, as I have used it almost every single day since. I love lightweight creams that give heavyweight results. The texture of this reminds me a little of Decleor Hydra Floral and Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cream. H² Cloud Cream is fragrance free and gentle enough on the sensitive areas of my skin. Yet, it provides my skin with the hydration it needs, without clogging pores or causing makeup slide off.

Suffering with post-menopausal hot flushes, especially on those hot summer days, this has been an ideal formulation of moisturiser for me, so would highly recommend. I use mine as part of my morning routine, after my SPF and Cold Plasma serum (info below). I apply a large pea sized amount over my face and neck, prior to applying makeup. Now we are approaching colder months, I simply add in a dry oil to my routine, under the serum.

This keeps my skin feeling incredibly soft all day, and although I get tired form chronic pain, it re-energises my skin making it look alive and youthful. A lovely product and for me a total winner!

Now, I am not totally averse to ageing, it is a process we all go through. Although I am averse to fillers or similar procedures, and simply want to protect my skin from further damage, and make the most of what I have. I want to help ageing signs appear a little less prominent, by making my skin and all its lines, soft, plump and bright. This is where serious skincare can provide results.

Perricone MD Cold Plasma – £129 for 30ml

This product is pretty amazing, and I have had good results using regularly as part of my morning routine. I can see why it has been a fave among beauty editors and many users over the years, as this Neuropeptide formula really has helped make my skin appear to look a little younger. The Cold Plasma range does have a higher price point, but is cheaper than some on the market, totally less invasive than facial procedures, and has the Dr Nicholas Perricone research and clinical trials behind it. Plus for efficacy, you only need to use a tiny amount.

Cold Plasma is designed to help treat these visible signs of ageing ;

  • Fight visible fine lines and wrinkles
  • Promote the look of firmness and elasticity
  • Combat discoloration and uneven skin tone
  • Soothe and calm the complexion
  • Purify enlarged-looking pores
  • Smooth visible imperfections

As the formula is fragrance free, it does have a slight chemical smell about it, which soon goes unnoticed after a few uses.

IngredientsAqua (Water), Glycerin, Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate, Phosphatidylcholine, Isopropyl Palmitate, L-Tyrosine, Butylene Glycol, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Oligopeptide-17, Ceteareth-20, Magnesium Aspartate, Zinc Gluconate, Dimethyl MEA (DMAE), Docosahexaenoic Acid, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Phenoxyethanol, Dimethicone, Caprylyl Glycol, Glycolic Acid, Retinyl Palmitate, Saccaromyces Ferment, Elaeis Guineensis (Palm) Oil, Carbomer, Disodium EDTA, Tocotrienols, Copper Gluconate, Polysorbate 20, Sorbic Acid, Tocopherol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Astaxanthin, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-3

Cold Plasma is more a treatment than a cream, yet its texture feels like a serum. It targets areas of need, and for me, has not only brightened my skin, but made lines look much softer in their appearance and less noticeable. The surface texture of my skin feels much smoother, plus it has helped plump and firm my jowl area in the last few months. As I am now 50, improving slackness is a big winner!

The feel of this formula is seriously silky. I apply a small pea sized amount after cleansing, which sinks into the skin leaving no trace. It has silently worked hard under my moisturiser each day leaving me a little addicted to the results. All I need now, is to find someone kind enough to get me some more for Christmas! If you are passionate about workhorse skincare that tackle signs of ageing, Cold Plasma really is worth a go. It does not work overnight, so be prepared to put it through its paces and use religiously for a few weeks, to start noticing results.

These have been my most go-to morning products for the last few months, with the inclusion of an SPF 50, and sometimes Perricone Face Finishing Moisturiser Tint, again with Cold Plasma underneath. I have noticed the improvement of lines, tone and texture, even the redness of my broken capillaries seem calmer. Sticking with it, this has proved a bit of a wow treatment for me and I love it.

I am slowly becoming a convert to some of the Perricone MD products, and you can find out what else I love here and here

Using Cold Plasma along with the H² Elemental Cloud Cream, has given me results after sticking with them. Although, it is no chore as I actually enjoy the user experience due to the textures. The best thing for me, was receiving compliments from a well-known MUA who was applying some product to my face recently. When someone is that close and keeps saying how amazing your skin is, you know your skincare game is on point!

Haha, ah good to hear Beka, but it’s not just the names but the ingredients. The H2 moisturiser is definitely lightweight but fab for hydration!
