Welcome! I’m Heidi..
a chatty, tea drinking 50 year old (going-on-35), who fights chronic pain & misses being a therapist!
“I founded my blog in January 2015 which features ‘Beauty, Wellness & Style’. I have collaborated with some fab brands, including Aveda, Khiel’s, Bodhi & Birch, Korres, Merumaya, Tisserand, JDWilliams, Vionic Shoes. I love trying new things that fit my blog and lifestyle. I share products & info on all things beauty, a passion for fashion & accessories, plus health & lifestyle. I enjoy compiling posts for my readers with informative, honest & in-depth reviews, whilst providing a good standard of photography”.
Skin type ~ Dry, broken capillaries, sensitivity, ageing
Product love ~ botanicals, a little science & mid-high end makeup. Style ~ relaxed fashion.
I qualified in beauty therapy over 20 years ago, and worked in salon environments, plus as a Decleor therapist in a country hotel spa. Also self-employed, working freelance as a mobile therapist, plus in a alternative therapy clinic. I provided services of aromatherapy massage (IFA qualified), phytotherapy facials and various other beauty/holistic treatments. I miss dperforming massage and facials in a BIG way, plus being told, “You have such magic hands”!
I always enjoyed treating people holistically as well as aesthetically, and love brands and products that sit within that theme. Unfortunately, I had to give up work several years ago due to chronic pain from Fibromyalgia and Arthritis. I set up ‘Chronic Beauty’ as I miss working in the industry, choosing to utilise my past knowledge/passion. That, plus the fact I enjoy being creative using writing and photography, and I find it helps me switch off from my illness…well, most of the time!
I live in the UK countryside near the Jurassic coast, with my husband and our boy..a black Labrador. I’m a bit of a petrolhead, and a fan of MotoGP and other motorsports for many years. I love tea, the beach, fashion, music, cooking, plus gardening, pilates and travel (when the body allows), and of course all things beauty!
Various other past work environments include : office admin for family business, Marks and Spencer, Toni & Guy…oh, and plenty of bar work. I also studied psychology at uni as a mature student, which took me out of my comfort zone at first, but thoroughly enjoyed the experience!
I hope you’ll enjoy my posts as much as I enjoy creating them. There may be rough times ahead with pain and fatigue, but hey.. life’s a journey and a huge learning curve. If you are a brand or PR that would like to collaborate with me, please see my contact page and feel free to get in touch.
